not just for lemurs anymore.

In all seriousness, everyone can benefit from making just a few changes in their daily life.  On this page, we list a few things that can help.

Eat breakfast!  Ideally within 30 minutes of waking up.
Breakfast is what tells your body that it's time to start your day.
Don't wait until lunch to wake up!  At the very least, grab a piece of fruit.
At the very, very least...a glass of milk will do in a pinch.  It's a protein powerhouse.

30 minutes of rigorous walking a day, in at MOST 3 ten minute sessions, is all you need
According to You: On a Diet, that covers all of the cardio that you need in a single
day to maintain an active metabolism!  If you've got to walk someplace, pick up the
pace and make it a workout.

Pay attention to portion sizes.  In the end, calories are the ultimate scorekeeper.
Your body takes calories that you consume (and don't use for energy) and stores it as fat.
For the average person, about 3,500 unused calories will be converted into 1 pound of fat.

So, how many calories should you consume a day?
The answer is simple:  Not too few and not too many!
Too little calories, and you are likely not getting enough nutrients, metabolism can slow, and you will feel tired.
Too many calories and...well, you know how THAT story ends.
Unfortunately, not everyone requires the same amount of calories.  Click here for a tool that will help you
determine how many calories you should be getting.

Omega-3 Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs) are very important to healthy living.
It used to be that this critical component of the human diet was satisfied with meat and fish.  But that was back
when they grazed wild.  In modern agriculture, most meats and fish are farm-raised and grain fed.  Grain feeding
results in a very large reduction in Omega-3 in the meats you consume.  A vitamin supplement of Flax Seed or
DHA fish oil can help restore balance to the diet.  Find out more.

What's the big deal about Fiber?
Fiber helps your body regulate insulin, which helps process sugar properly.  The modern American diet is
       packed
with too much sugar, which means that fiber is a very important part of almost everyone's diet.
Eating the right cereal in the morning can kill two birds with one stone:  send the body a message that it's
time to start the day with a high fiber jump start.

Drink tea or coffee, and eat raspberries or blueberries.
These food items are packed with antioxidants that help keep you young and vital.  Antioxidants
are believed to help the body eliminate free radicals, which scientists believe travel throughout
     the body and damage cells.
